
Day 01: Arrival at Kolkata/Delhi
Arrival at Kolkata (land of Joy)/New Delhi. Received upon
arrival and transferred to hotel. Day free at your, leisure.
Evening, free. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing
Sightseeing the boulevards of the erstwhile British capital
which still carries the reminiscence of the days of Raj in
India. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 03:
Kolkata/Delhi- Guwahati
Morning drive to the airport for flight to Guwahati (gateway
to North East, India). Received upon arrival and transferred
to hotel. Day free at your, leisure. Evening, sunset cruise
on river Bramhaputra. Overnight in hotel.
Day 04:
Kaziranga National Park
Post breakfast drive to Kaziranga National Park, and check
into lodge/resort, inside the park. Afternoon, enjoy the beauty
and calmness inside a national park. Overnight inside the
National Park.
Day 05: Kaziranga National
Park
Early morning Elephant safari in the core area of the national
park followed by full day jeep safari in the two major ends
of the park to see migratory birds and the animals. Evening
enjoy the flavour of the local Bihu dance performed by the
local villagers. Overnight inside the National Park.
Jorhat: Jorhat, situated at a distance of
310km east of Guwahati, is called the tea capital of Assam.
It is the gateway to Upper Assam, Nagaland and North &
East Arunachal Pradesh. Jorhat has the oldest and premiere
Tea research Institute, dedicated to the tea industry. A tea
research centre is established at Chinnamara, 5-km away from
Jorhat. Annual tea festival in Jorhat is another attraction,
along with temple of Buri Gohani, British imperial mementos,
the hanging platform to hang Freedom Fighters in front of
the jail and many others. Although not particularly attractive
to tourists in itself, Jorhat makes a good base for exploring
the unique Vaishnavite culture of Majuli, the largest river
island in the world. North of Jorhat lies Sibsagar, former
capital of the Ahoms and home to numerous tombs, temples and
palaces.
Day 06:
Jorhat
After leisurely morning activity drive to Tea Bunglow at Jorhat,
enroute visit the oldest Tea Research & Training Institute,
evening enjoy a life quite different from the normal, a feeling
of life like old British Tea Planters. A refreshing mood with
tea garden workers performing traditional JHUMUR Dance. Overnight
in the Bunglow.
Day 07: Jorhat - Cart
ride
Spent entire day in Tea Garden activities, which includes
plucking of tea leaves with the tea leaf pluckers, a practical
knowledge about tea making process followed by art of tea
tasting. Afternoon drive to one of the Heritage Mansion in
Jorhat. Evening enjoy the thrill of Indian Bullock Cart Ride.
Overnight in the Heritage Mansion
Majuli (largest Riverine Island in Asia):
It is the world’s largest riverine island spread over
an area of 800 sq. km of forest and beach on river Bramhaputra.
The bio-diversity of this island creates an ideal place for
birds of many species, visiting this region. Majuli is the
birth place of Vaishnava Satras, (‘Satras’ means
holy shrine). Sankardeva founded the Satras in the 15th Century.
At present the island has twenty two Satras in Majuli.
Day 08: Jorhat - excursion
to Majuli
Early morning cruise to Majuli Island where one can spend
time visiting the Satras and the local villages. A bird watcher
can spend a good time in the island to enjoy the company of
the birds of different origins. Evening return back to Heritage
Mansion.
Day 09: Dibrugarh
Drive to Rukmini a small sand bank on river Bramhaputra developed
into an Island retreat and check into Beach Resort. Overnight
in the resort.
Day 10: Dibrugarh
Early morning walk along the beach, spend some quite time
with some novels or go for angling or Kayaking in the river.
Overnight in the resort.
Day 11:
Dibrugarh
Drive to century old bunglow, you can enjoy the evening with
a cup of hot Assam Tea, sitting on the lawn. Overnight inside
the bunglow in the tea estate.
Day 12:
Transfer to Dibrugarh Airport/Railway Station
Transfer to Airport/Railway Station for onward journey.
