
MOIRANG
It is one of the important
centre of Meitei folk culture with the ancient temple of the
pre-Hindu deity Lord Thangjinga. The town also has special
place in the history of the Indian freedom struggle. It is
the where the INA first unfurled the National Flag of India
on April 1944.
LOKTAK
LAKE & SENDRA ISLAND
The largest freshwater lake
in the north eastern India, it is rich in bio-diversity which
has made it the perfect home of avian life. The beauty of
the lake has been enhanced by the presence of floating weed.
Sendra Island in the middle of the lake, with a tourist cottage
offers a spectacular view of the surrounding. The presence
of the Keibul Lamjao N.P on the southern part of the lake,
which is the only floating national park of this world, has
made the lake more unique.
LANGTHABAL
A small hill on the Indo-Myanmar
road, has been made famous by the relics of an old, historic
palace, temple of architectural importance and ceremonial
houses. The presence of pine and jackfruit plants has made
the place more pleasant.
KAINA
It is a sacred place of the
Hindus. The place is related to lord Govindajee. The scenery
of the place is charming and the hill shrubs and natural surroundings
give the place a sanity and religious atmosphere.
KHWAIRAMBAND
BAZAR
A unique bazar, situated
in heart of Imphal town. It is a market dominated by the woman.
The 3000 ‘Imas’ or mothers who run the stalls.
It is split into two sections on either side of the road.
UKHRUL
It is the popular hill station
of Manipur and also the district head quarter of East Manipur.
This small place is famous for its famous ‘Siroy Lily’
and lime caves at Kangkhui.
