Mountain

North East Indian primarily falls in the domain of Eastern Himalayan region. The Eastern Himalayas is dotted with numerous mountains and its lofty peaks. The famous of the peaks are Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, Makalu, Dhaulgiri, Kabru in Nepal and Mt.Jumalhari in Bhutan to Gorichen in Arunachal Pradesh.

All these mountains with their snow clad peaks forms a wonderful vista of the entire region. Apart form that, these mountains are also the sources of numerous rivers, which support several lives.

Eastern Himalayan mountains are also the home of many species of flora, which protects the human civilization in manifold. The mountain also houses several species of medicinal plants which lies scattered in the mountain terrains and also in the forested part of the mountains. Apart from the flora, the entire region is rich in many wild species of animal, reptiles and avian life.

The red panda is one of the major attractions of the Eastern Himalayan mountains, apart from it, Himalayan Black Bear, Tagin, Wild Himalayan goat.
