The tour takes you to Kaziranga
National Park- to see the one horned Rhinoceros, to the Land
of Fiercely independent Angami Warrior Nagas where you can
trek in the best trekking valley in this region and see the
culturally diverse Naga warrior tribe and to Shillong, home
of the Khasi Highland tribe, also known as the Scotland of
the east where you stay at the summer Palace of King of Tripura.
You also tour the old capital of Assam Sibsagar, the seat
of power of Ahom Rulers. Ahoms who belonged to the Shan dynasty
came from aThailand andRuled Assam for 500 years before the
Britishers.
Day
01: Arrival at Kolkata/Delhi
Arrival at Kolkata (land
of Joy)/New Delhi. Received upon arrival and transferred to
hotel. Day free at your, leisure. Evening, free. Overnight
in Hotel.

02: Full day sightseeing
Sightseeing the boulevards
of the erstwhile British capital which still carries the reminiscence
of the days of Raj in India. Overnight in Hotel.

03: Kolkata/Delhi- Guwahati
Morning drive to the airport
for flight to Guwahati (gateway to North East, India). Received
upon arrival and transferred to hotel. Day free at your, leisure.
Evening, sunset cruise on river Bramhaputra. Overnight in
hotel.

04: Guwahati-Kaziranga
After an early breakfast
drive to famous Kaziranga National park (220 kms 4 hrs drive).
Check into a Jungle resort on arrival. In the afternoon visit
nearby Tea Estate and Tea Tribes village. Overnight stay at
Kaziranga.

05: Kaziranga
Early morning (5:30 am)
explore central Range of Kaziranga National Park on Elephant
Safari. On return explore the eastern range on a jeep safari.
Return for lunch and proceed to Western Range of Kaziranga
National Park on jeep. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

06: Kaziranga-Kohima-Touphema
Depart for Kohima after breakfast
(225 kms 5 hrs drive). On arrival proceed to Touphema Village
Resort (41 kms from Kohima) run by Angami Naga village community.
Enjoy cultural presentation by village folks. Overnight at
Touphema Tourist village.
Day
07: Touphema-Kohima-Dimori Cove
Explore the village in the
morning hours. After breakfast check out of the village resort
& drive to Kohima. Visit the WW II Cemetery, nestled in
the heart of Kohima town, where one of the fiercest battles
was fought. On a huge stone in in-laid bronze the following
famous words remained one of the undoubting courage displayed
by the war heroes in order to preserve the freedom of the
future generation.

Also visit The State Museum,
located at Bayani hill Kohima, it gives you a peep into the
various aspects of Naga Culture. It displays dioramas of the
lifestyle of the Naga tribes. Artifacts, handlooms, &
Handicrafts, Tools & Implements, Gems & Jewelry, Coins
& Ancient weaponry will give you an idea of the rich Culture
and Heritage of the native people. Proceed to Kepfiizha (Kigwema
village) Dimori Cove Guest house for lunch. This small but
beautiful place is on the Kohima Imphal Highway which we use
as base for trekking up the Japfu Peak (3048 metre Mt) Japfu,
home of the world's tallest rhododendron tree (20 metres high)
and also for trekking to Dzukou the best trekking valley of
North-East India. Following lines greets you to Dzukou.

After lunch visit nearby
Angami village of Jakhama. Return to Kohima and check into
your hotel room. Overnight stay at Kohima.

08: Khonoma: Drive to Khonoma (20 kms)
Angami Tribal village and
the home village of father of Naga Nationalist movement Angami
Phizo. This village located on top of a hillock has a pastoral
beauty of its own. This was where the Last part of the Anglo
Naga War was fought. Return to Kohima for overnight stay.

09: Kohima-Dimapur-Sibsagar
After an early breakfast
depart for Sibsagar (225 kms 5 hrs). Visit remains of Ahom
Kingdom who ruled Assam for 500 years before giving in to
British. Overnight stay at Sibsagar.

10: Explore Remains of the Ahom Kingdom
Visit to Tai Ahom Museum
and the Maidams (Mummy like structures) of Ahom kings Burial
grounds at Charaideo. In the afternoon drive to Jorhat (1
hr). The "Tea Capital of the World" On arrival check
into Raj Era Tea Estate Bunglow.

11: Jorhat: Tea-capital, the Thengal Mansion, Assamese
village
Thengal Mansion, a historic
ancestral house of a Tea Planter amidst an Asssamese village,
15 kms from Jorhat. The 72-year old Thangal Mansion is to
answer the queries on Assamese culture and tradition. After
lunch and rest, take a walk in a nearby village to see the
simplicity of their lives.

12: Jorhat- Shillong
After an early morning breakfast
drive to Shillong (350 kms 6 hrs). Have Lunch en-route at
Borapani Umiam Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding
sylvan hills. Check in to Royal Heritage Tripura Castle, the
summer Palace of King of Tripura and experience the Royal
Hospitality. Take a Guided tour of the palace. Overnight at
Shillong.

13: Shillong: Ward lake, Hydari Park
Morning sightseeing at Shillong,
admire the beauty of Shillong also called Scotland of the
East. It is erstwhile capital of undivided Assam; present
North-East and home to the Khasi Highland tribes. Visit Elephanta
falls, Ward lake, Hydari Park and Shillong peak for some breathtaking
views. Overnight at Shillong.

14: Shillong-Guwahati
After breakfast drive to
Guwahati (100 kms 2 and ½ hrs). Explore Guwahati, the
gateway city to North-east of India. Evening spend on a river
cruise to watch the sun go down the river and see yourself
why the river is locally called 'Luit'- colour of blood. Overnight
at Guwahati.
